Assault Survivor Kits Program

Since 1995, clothing (underwear, top, and pants) have been provided by Assistance League of Greeley so that victims of assault (men, women, and children) have something clean to wear after their visit to the hospital. Local trained law enforcement personnel require the assault victim's clothes for evidence. Assistance League of Greeley works with area hospitals which provide the first physical examination to assault victims. Over 400 Weld County assault victims had access to the ASK program this year.   Prior to Assistance League of Greeley providing these kits, assault victims usually had to wear medical scrubs home. Although Assistance League of Greeley has no direct contact with these victims, our hope is that the trauma they experienced has been lessened to some small degree by receiving new, clean clothing to wear home from the hospital.

During 2018-19, 782 articles of clothing were distributed with a budget of $3,600 through a Weld County Victims and Law Enforcement Board grant which the Assistance League of Greeley administers.
